The Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design is celebrating the arrival to Sydney of the Clipper Round the World 09-10 race participants, friends and family with a special display featuring works by Cape Breton model ship builder Mark Boudreau. From June 8th to 22nd the Centre is displaying four of Mr. Boudreau’s ships accompanied by projected images of the “Cape Breton Island” Clipper. This is an opportunity for visitors to the Centre to experience the world class design and craftsmanship of Mark Boudreau, a retired custom builder who has created original handcrafted ship models for many years. His exquisite work is known in Canada and the U.S. He specializes in ship models of early twentieth century steam and motor vessels.
The Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design is conveniently located at 322 Charlotte Street in Sydney. The Gallery is open Monday to Friday, 10 am – 4 pm and Saturdays from noon – 4 pm.
